Non adherence to prescriptions after a hospital stay is an ongoing issue that has a lasting impact not only to the patient, but the entire healthcare industry. In fact, Medicare reports that preventable hospital re-admissions cost the industry more than $17 billion annually. When you consider that 40% of patients do not fill their prescriptions post hospitalization by day 9, it's no wonder these costs have reached such a fever pitch.
Pharma brands are committed to changing this trend at the hospital level. By combating the biggest hurdles to prescription fills, brands can build product loyalty while getting patients onto cost-saving, and maybe even life-saving, medications.
